Such as, \u201cWhen life gives you lemons, make lemonade\u201d, or \u201cLearn to dance in the rain\u201d. Sayings like these encourage us to change our mindset, look for the positives and seek to change our situation.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-size:18px\">Which is always easier said than done.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-size:18px\">When you are surviving trauma, those are some massive lemons to deal with. With hard times come hard choices. It\u2019s marvellous. When the pain seems beyond bearable the main questions we ask are \u201cGod, why is this happening?\u201d or \u201cGod, what are you doing?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-size:18px\">If you have journeyed long enough with the Father, you have hopefully learned He doesn\u2019t normally swoop in and \u201csave the day&#8221; in an instant. Instead the rains keep coming, and our tears keep falling. It&#8217;s in these moments we may be tempted to believe God is cold-hearted, or doesn&#8217;t care about us. So it\u2019s no wonder if hearing God is difficult during a valley!\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-size:18px\"><em>How can you hear Him in the mess?<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-size:18px\">You need to get quiet. Believe He will speak to you. Stop entertaining all the fears in your head. His gentle whisper CAN be heard.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-size:18px\">Even if you can only still yourself for 5 minutes, use that time intentionally. I found journaling my prayers, and what God was saying, helped keep me focused and engaged for those 5 minutes.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-size:18px\"><em>What would it do for your heart to simply hear Him simply say, \u201cI\u2019m with you?\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-size:18px\">Feeling abandoned by God is just that\u2014a feeling. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-size:18px\">I know this, not only from personal experience, but in Deuteronomy 31:8 AMP it says, <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-size:18px\"><strong>\u201cIt is the Lord who goes before you; He will be with you. He will not fail you or abandon you. It professes that praise is a choice, and to fully rely on God is also a choice. No matter what is going on in your life, God is who He is and He will not change on you.
